Sorina of Moldova — The Girl Who Writes Things Down
Age: 12 Region: Europe
Sorina writes things down.
Not because she is afraid she'll forget them.
Because sometimes a thought feels different once it is sitting on paper looking back at you.
Sorina has filled seven notebooks.
Notebook number one contains mostly drawings, three unfinished stories and a list titled:
THINGS I WILL DO WHEN I AM A GROWN-UP
Number four is:
Eat cake whenever I want.
Sorina has since learned that adults are technically allowed to do this and, inexplicably, usually don't.
She considers adulthood increasingly suspicious...
Her Dream: To become a novelist and write stories that help people recognize pieces of themselves in someone else's words.
Her Wonder: How many things do we discover about ourselves only after we find the words to say them?
Discover Sorina's complete story in Girls Wear Crowns: A Global Celebration.
