Every Girls Wear Crowns portrait is an original fictional character created to celebrate the beauty, dreams, and diversity of girls around the world. We strive to portray each girl with authenticity and respect, thoughtfully researching the country she represents, its cultures and traditions, everyday life, interests, and opportunities.
While each girl's story is imagined, the world around her is grounded in real places, people, and possibilities. No single character is intended to represent every girl from her country or culture. Instead, we hope each one opens a small window into another part of the world—and inspires curiosity to learn more.
Do your portraits represent every girl from a country?
Each portrait tells the story of one fictional girl inspired by her region. No single artwork is intended to represent an entire country, culture, ethnicity, or community. Our mission is to celebrate individual stories while honoring the beauty and diversity found around the world.
Does Girls Wear Crowns address politics, religion, governments or global conflicts?
Girls Wear Crowns is intentionally nonpolitical and nonsectarian. Our stories do not take positions on governments, political movements, wars, international conflicts or religious beliefs. A girl's country, culture or faith may be part of the world around her, but none of these alone defines who she is.
Our focus is on the girl herself: what makes her laugh, what captures her imagination, what she loves to do, what she hopes to become, and what she wonders about the world around her. We believe children can discover another place, culture or tradition without being asked to adopt a political or religious point of view.
Religious and cultural traditions may appear naturally in a girl's story when they are part of everyday life, just as food, clothing, celebrations, family traditions and local customs may appear. They are presented with care and respect—not as beliefs Girls Wear Crowns asks the reader to share.
When a story is set in a region affected by conflict or political tension, we approach her culture and everyday life with the same care, curiosity and respect we bring to every girl in the collection. Girls Wear Crowns is not intended to explain complex political events or religious beliefs. It is an invitation to meet the girl who lives beyond the headlines.

Because each print is made to order, we cannot accept returns or exchanges for changes of mind or incorrect size selections. If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us within 14 days with photos, and we'll make it right.
