Our Story

About Us

Girls Wear Crowns began with a simple idea: every girl deserves to see a world filled with possibilities.

What started as a collection of beautiful portraits became something much bigger. Each girl developed a name, a personality, a story, and a dream. Some want to become scientists, writers, musicians, explorers, filmmakers, or architects. Others are still figuring it out — exactly as they should be.

Together, they became Girls Wear Crowns, a celebration of girls from cultures and communities around the globe, connected by curiosity, courage, imagination, and the freedom to dream.

Each piece of art is accompanied by the story of the girl who inspired it, because we believe the picture is only the beginning.

About Me

I'm Carol, the artist and storyteller behind Girls Wear Crowns.

I created this collection because I wanted to make art that was beautiful enough to hang on a girl's wall, but meaningful enough to become part of how she sees herself and the world around her.

While these girls live in art, their curiosity, silliness, determination, friendships, big ideas, and enormous dreams belong to real girls everywhere.

If one of them makes a girl laugh, wonder about another part of the world, discover something she wants to learn, or think “Maybe I could do that, too,” then Girls Wear Crowns has done exactly what I hoped it would do.

Every girl has a story. Every girl has a dream. Every girl deserves her crown.
