Her mother does not consider this a valid scientific argument.
Solveig had been watching a video about the northern lights.
Just one video.
Then she clicked on another about Earth's magnetic field.
Which led to one about solar storms.
Which led to one about satellites.
Which led to a video explaining what would happen if astronauts cried in space.
Solveig had never wondered what happened when astronauts cried in space.
Now she desperately needed to know...
An hour later, her mother appeared in the doorway.
“Solveig.”
Solveig froze.
“You're supposed to be asleep.”
“I know.”
“What are you doing?”
There was a pause.
“Learning about tears.”
Her mother stared at her.
“In space.”
Another pause.
“Of course.”
This is how Solveig's brain works.
One question becomes another question, which becomes six more questions, until she has traveled so far from the original subject that she sometimes can't remember how she got there.
Her teachers call her curious.
Her father calls her The Human Rabbit Hole...
Her Dream: To study the universe and someday help answer a question about space that nobody has answered before.
