apparently open nothing, a tiny plastic dinosaur and one earring.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere is also a spoon.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNobody knows why.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThings have a way of traveling on a kibbutz.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA sweater left on a bench moves to the dining hall.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA soccer ball rolls into someone's garden.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSomeone borrows a tool, gives it to someone else, and three days later four adults are standing around discussing the whereabouts of a shovel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYael finds this astonishing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e“How do grown-ups lose a \u003cstrong\u003eshovel\u003c\/strong\u003e?”\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHer father shrugs.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e“It happens.”\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e“It is taller than I am.”\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis does not seem to
